Any suggestions how to model nonstructural elements in perform 3D?

Sorry, I am looking only in perform 3D

I would think nonstructural elements would only be relevant to modeling mass. Maybe damping to some extent.

Regarding its connections to structural elements?

Can you be more specific about your design goals? For example, something like a partition wall I would not model in Perform 3D except for its mass contribution. But the results from my global analysis would be informative to determine appropriate design criteria for the partition wall attachments.

Sure, Like how to model eg: a mass of 5000 kg (SDOF) attached to any of the intermediate floors or at roof and analysis its non linearity by using time history analysis.Basically studying its effect on structural elements.

I haven't noticed Perform 3D mentioned here before, and I was not aware of it before, but I note on their web-site they say:

"The mass distribution and magnitude. This can affect static push-over analysis as well as dynamic response history analysis."

which implies that it does have the tools necessary for modelling non-structural mass, and that CSI would be the best source of information.

robyengIT - Freecad doesn't do dynamic non-linear analysis does it? Or am I missing something?
