I am running a linear static analysis in ANSYS, simple support and 1 lb load. I am using PCG solver, when I checked the .stat file for "ratio", I see ratio = NAN
Can anyone tell me what it means??
thanks
james

NAN stands for "Not A Number". Likely a divide-by-zero incident. I take it that your model did not achieve an solution? What is the result if you use the sparse solver? Were there any other messages like "check for rigid-body motion"?

Hi
the problem only occurs when the model is from Ansys v8 and being used on our remote servers. When I archive the model out of v8, then in to v6, and finally save it as a v6 db, the model solved fine.
This message (NaN) is with a large model from v8 solved on our remote servers using the PCG solver.
thanks
