pattern sketch elements???

is there not a way to pattern elements i.e. a circle inside a sketch?

What exactly are trying to do? Without a base feature like a protrusion or surface you can create the pattern points, but will be unable to pattern the circle itself. If you have a base feature, then there are a couple ways to accomplish the actual patterning.

Do you have a drawing or screenshot that you can post so we can see what exactly your trying to do??

In Draft, yes you can make non-associative patterns of elements.
In model sketches, no you cannot make patterns of 2D elements.

I'm not sure why you can't do that on 2d elements. Thats a pretty common feature on other modeling softwares.
