I use different colours in a model to represent a machined surface from a non-machined surface.

Is there any way to colour a portion of the surface and not the entire area?

Not sure if this is too late, but Pro/E will only color by surface. I use this frequently to show machined surfaces as well. A work around would be to cut it really small (.0001 cut) and then color the surface. Hope that helps.

can u explain step by step how eServ

Sure, no problem. First, View>Model Setup>Color and Appearance. Select a color from the Color Palette (if no color available, select Add, click on white color button, select color wheel, pick a color, and close). Select OK at the bottom, Set object appearance to Surface, and then select surface you want colored. I usually color the part and then use white for the machined surface.

Another method would be to create datum curves enclosing the machined area and create a surface, then color it.

Hi,

This will really help....

1.Use Fearure/creat/surface/copy and select the machined surfaces

2.Creat a layer called machined surface and place it in that layer.

3.Select all the non machines surface/solid geometry and place it in another layer.

4. u unblanck the machined surface copy layer and color the quilt from the colour pallett.

5.Resume all the layers

6. And u GET WHAT U WANT....

bye,
