I need to show a part in two differant shapes. 1. Part by it self 2. Same part but in an assembly with a crimp on the end of it. Is it possible to do this using the same part.

Could you use Reference sets to show this? For example have two solid bodies in your PRt file. One showing un crimped solid body and another solid body showing the crimp. Make two different reference sets with each solid body by itself in its own special reference set. Go into the assembly right click on your component and select the appropriate reference set to show.

Using a 'Deformable Part' might be a better solution.

If I use deformable can I design it with the crimp and in the assembly have the crimp removed.
Thanks for the reference set idea

What version of NX are you running and what does the 'crimp' look like?
