Hello

I am being asked to provide the support for two beams that sit on a 215mm block wall. The wall itself is being built using 7N blocks laid on their side. To support the beams, I intend to strengthen the blocks under the supports. My question is - am I able to use C40 440x215x100mm padstones laid flat? Also, if I am able to use padstones, what would be the normalised strength of the block for use in Eurocode calculations please?

Regards

Dan

Yes ...as long as max. allowable load is less than 160 kN but the depth should be 3 courses..

Not to know is bad;
not to wish to know is worse.
