Pad and Multi-Pad, what's the difference

I have been using Pad and Multi-Pad and still don't know the differnce. Will anyone explain this.

according to the help files on Multi-pad:

"This task shows you how to extrude multiple profiles belonging to a same sketch using different length values. The multi-pad capability lets you do this at one time."
