Hi everyone,

I am looking for a supplier that could supply blocks of P91 or P92. It is needed for the manufacturing of large specialized (high pressure/temperature) control valve casings.

The location of the supplier isn't crucial...

Regards,

As I recall from past EPRI studies, the european vendor Georg Fisher was involved in the optimization of forged F91 valve casings 15 yrs ago. Since that time , many other valve mfrs offer either F91 forged valves as well as cast equivalent C12A valves.

Some steam turbine vendors also provide F91 main steam stop valves ( Siemens) , to avoid the thick walled disimilar metal weld ( ie, P91 pipe to 1.5 Cr .5 Mo V cast) that other stg vendors had used but which are at risk of prompt fatigue failures .

All it would take is to call a dozen major valve vendors, and at least half would offer the F91 or C12 A option.

To weld to these valves, you would need to ensure the "designer" that is designing and specifying the weld interface between pipe and valve has persons employed that have been educated in the metallurgical peculiarities of these materials, and also treats these weld interfaces as critical areas that need to be reviewed in detail from the standpoint of stress analysis and fatigue damage during fast startups and shutdowns. QC and NDT procedures and documentation shuld be much more stringent than defined by current ASME code requirements.
