Oxygen Strippers in Light Naphtha Hydrotreaters for ISOM UNITS

Our O2 stripper currently uses Natural Gas as the stripping medium. There is a desire to switch to Hydrogen as NG prices have risen and contiue to rise. Is there any experience out there with H2 vs NG in this application?

I haven't had that experience. I pressume the strippings are sent to a KO drum and the gases thereof burnt in a downstream heater. Replacing hydrogen for nat. gas for stripping would appear to be plausible, however, safety (a larger flammability risk) and burner design issues would have to be taken into consideration, wouldn't they ?

Correct. In this situation, the hydrogen would be mixed with the refinery's fuel gas system and simply after it leaves the stripper so burner designs would not be impacted as this stream is very small in comparison. Just wondered if anyone else had used hydrogen before and what the experience was.
