Overlapping limits of reinforcement between nozzles N1 and N2 detected - user intervention may be required

Sharing my 2 cents on this deficency as there isnt much open documentation on the matter.

My understanding is that the software is asking for the designer to use their discretion to resolve an 'imaginary" discrepancy, where the program is using binary, 2d logic against a physical issue. rather than encoding a possible oversight into the automated design analysis, the software is prompting for user intervention.

As the program analyses it. After some user intervention.

Note: Neither Nozzle requires a repad by the area method, this is for visual purpose only.

The Code does not allow nozzles to “share” area for reinforcement. Therefore, when the Code allowed radial limit of a nozzle overlaps that of another, COMPRESS reports this deficiency.

Going further, COMPRESS does not “discard” the interfered areas, so the overlapping limits of reinforcement deficiencies have to be addressed. The only option to resolve all of the overlapping limit deficiencies (without moving the nozzles) is to enter a “User Specified Limit of Reinforcement” in the Calculation Options at the bottom of the first screen of the nozzle dialog.

Procedure:
Start with a radial limit that is slightly larger than the nozzle OD. For example, say a nozzle has a 6-inch OD. Entering a radial limit of 3.25 inches creates a 6.5-inch limit of reinforcement. The limits may no longer overlap, but the reinforcement could be insufficient. Gradually increase the radial limit until the area is sufficient but still do not overlap with other nozzles. This process requires incremental iteration.
