Machine1 running Windows2000 SP4 - SolidWorks 2004 SP5.
From Windows Explorer I can highlight multiple SW files, right click and choose open. All of the files will open within the the SW sesssion.

Machine2 running WindowsXP SP2 - SolidWorks 2004 SP5.
From Windows Explorer I can highlight multiple SW files, right click and choose open. Only one of the files will open in the SW session. The next file will open in a new SW session only after closing the the previous SW session and so on.

Does anyone have any ideas why Machine2 (WinXP) is not opening all of my files in the first SW session?

Thank You
Eric

No idea why that is happening. Have you tried dragging & dropping all highlighted parts into the graphics area of SW?

Depends on the OS, RAM, etc. How much RAM do you have in each? When I had Win200 500mb Ram, it would never open files like you state. With XP Prof 2gb, most of the time I can.

I have the same problem as Eric's on my P4 with XP (sp1.0) 2.0GB Ram. Only one of the files will open in the SW session. The next file will open in a new SW session only after closing the the previous SW session and so on.

Drag and drop worked. Each machine has 1G of ram.

Also I realized the files I am opening are on a local file server. If I copy the files to my hard drive and open them all at once, it works just fine.

So, I guess the question becomes...
Why do the files not open on Machine2 (WinXP) over the network?

I still have the same problem with all files at my hard drive. So, I don't think it is just an issue of network.
