Open Ideas...

Anyone had any luck with this open Ideas command? trying it out to get this to function to transfer legacy data. Keep getting "Unable to connect to I-deas server" error.

Our setup is latest NX version 1919 and IdeasNX 6.3 running TDM server. Don't see the userprof.prg file mentioned in the documentation.

Sounds like you'be not got ORBIX configured correctly.

Running the latest version of windows 10. That is when we upgraded to Ideas 6.3.

I-Deas 6.3 isn't supported on Windows 10, ORBIX for example doesn't work. You need at least I-Deas 6.6 for Windows 10.

tried to upgrade to 6.7 but couldn't connect to the TDM. Maybe 6.6 is better option?

Ok will try again to upgrade to newer version 6.7 or 6.8. Also can not find userprof.prg file this was recommended in another post

We only ever used .xpk packagefiles to transfer dumb models from I-Deas to NX, never got into CMM.

We were able to upgrade to 6.8 and upgraded the orbix server (iona680) but still having errors getting NX to connect to the ideas TDM. The trouble we had in the past was the orbix server was older version and you need manually uninstall to get the new one to install. But still having issues with open ideas connecting.
