How can i model a one way slab in Etabs? I read somewhere that i can use membrane element but i am interested in the out-of-plane behavior of the slab. Is it possible to use shell element for a one way slab?

You could always edit the flexural stiffness of the slab, so that it will only span one way. (ie significantly reducing the bending stiffness in one direction).

I have never done it myself but you can assign slab modifiers, I would recommend setting the direction you don't want to consider the slab span to 5 to 10% (0.05 to 0.1). This will be either the M11 or M22 modifier depending on the direction your slab is orientated.
