? on assemblies

I have 3 parts to a motor assembly, and the are configured except for my rivet. I want my rivet
to stay mated to the hole & surface for all configurations.

I mated it in the default config mode, then as I step down thru my 14 configurations
the rivet now moves away from the hole I mated it to.

Any thoughts on WHY it moves away from hole.

I thought in the default mode, I mate the rivet to the hole & surface.......it stays there
throughout all the configurations.

This sounds more like a CAD specific question. If you state what CAD package you use, we can help point you to the right forum.
