/hi everybody
can you please guide me for analysis of pipeline (extraction of stresses and strains) during pipeline installation with s-lay method? is there any softwares for performing this analysis? Can I use caesar or other finite element analysis softwares for this? thanks

Unless you need the full dynamics of currents and sea state, its not too hard just to simulate a single plane analysis this using a catenary curve hanging off the stinger. Excel works.

can you please recommend a reference for pipe analysis in installation?

thakns , the website was realy great. /but, i can't find anything related to pipeline analysis during pipe laying. could you please advise me to find a lecture or text book to find basis of such analysis. regards

There was one or two that I used to have, but they seemed to have disappeared now.

This is a new book, so I don't know exactly if its good or not, but I do think you can trust Gulf Publishing for their usually excellent products. In fact I think I will buy a copy too.

You can use pipeline installation software like Offpipe or Orcaflex. But these are such expensive software that you can not buy by yourself. You may be able to buy a broken version much cheaper than original one
