Offset of non-planar curve

Gents,

i'd like to offset non-planar curve (spline for routing),
i used Offset curve from right-Menu,i picked my curve, then Face(s)on which to offset (i picked Ref-Plane),but nothing happend :(

Some usefull i-deas??for any, thanks

I am not certain how the command "Offset" will prompt for faces to offset to. Maybe you mean the command "Project" instead?

The "Offset" command does not consider offsetting planes, as it offsets in 3D. What should the end result curve be? (2D curve that is on a ref plane or 3D curve in space?)

If you can share the step by step of which command is used, and what I-deas prompts for during each step of that command, we may be able to offer more suggestions.
