I have to repair a pool type filtration system, no parts are available. I was going to glue it with PVC glue but it is nylon. Would PVC glue work? Would anything work under the pressures of a pool pump? Thanks, Chewey

I don't think the PVC solvent cement will be very effective.

If memory serves, phenol is the only really satisfactory solvent cement for nylon, but it's very, very toxic.

I'd try epoxy.

Nylon can be hard to bond to itself mainly due to the additives. Resorcinol will glue some of the nylons. HCl will bond nylon 66 but is tricky to use . Relative additive free material can be heat bonded. There are some hot melts that have came out supposedly will bond nylon.

Check with the following companies to see if anything has come down the pike.

you may be surprised at how well JB Weld will work. The typical pressures involved in a swimming pool system are relatively low anyway. If you were to provide a little more specific information about the part, and/or application, I am confident we can come up with a solution.
