Hi,

2D Synchronous Modeling works in Sketching.
Have I misunderstood that an NX9 user could modify the 3D geometry from the Drafting environment using 2D Synchronous Modeling as well?

Thanks

Yes, the only demo that I'm aware of that has shown Synchronous 2D being used in the context of a Drawing was, as cowski mentioned, a Drawing which simulated what could be done with data imported using the DXF/DWG translator. In other words, there was NO 3D model, only a series of 2D views on a Drawing sheet. So to make sure that we're clear on this, Synchronous 2D is purely a 'sketch-based' tool and if all you have are Sketch curves than that's all you will get. Of course, if the Sketch was used as a profile to create a feature model, such as an Extrude or Revolve or as profiles used to create a Sheet Body, then they will update as a result of any changes made just like any other workflow where a Sketch was edited and there were children created using this Sketch.

Thanks a lot!

ST 2D works also in sketch model environment.

Thank you...

Using NX 8 and TC9.1

mz7dyj,

You can modify a model from Drafting using the dimensions on the face of the dwg, but it's not using the 2D Synchronous modeling. Check out the Help docs under Drafting -> Annotations -> Automated annotations in Drafting -> Feature Parameters -> Inherit Feature Parameters and Inherit Sketch dimensions.

For Inherit Sketch dimensions, you are basically showing your Sketch dims on the face of the dwg and modifying the Sketch from the dwg.

Xwheelguy,

I knew about modification od 3 Data from the Drafting environment ( -> Feature Parameters -> Inherit Feature Parameters and Inherit Sketch dimensions).
The modifications occur by modifying the value of the Expressions.
