One of my requirement in NX7.5 drawings asks for the view names in view labels for section, detail and other views should have a rectangular box bounding the text. if view scale is enabled, it should be outside the box and below view name. Can anyone suggest some inputs here?

Venkat.

Recommended for you

Activate the curve tools, and create a rectangle around the view name.

If it were me, I'd turn off the automatic view labels and insert a note with an origin that is associative to the view. The text would be like this (with a box around the name & scale below):

<&70><+>VIEW NAME<+><&90>
VIEW SCALE

Thanks Cowski...But this way the box will not be attached to the label and if I move the view or label, box will not move.
Suggestion by Xwheelguy is fine, thanks. But I want this view label with box should appear as an option while enabling view label and scale.
Looking for some journal or a macro help.

Good call, Tim. I rarely use those symbols and had forgotten about them.

You might be able to use Tim's suggestion and update your preferences to add the symbol text necessary. Back in NX 2, we added some similar text control characters to our view labels, so I'm pretty sure it is possible. No macro or journal would be necessary in this case.

Tim's suggestions is working fine. Thanks you Tim.
another question:
is it possible to create the box with some gap from the text? Like the box should have a gap of 3mm from all four sides of text.

The gap you desire won't be uniform all the way around the text - it will only apply to the top & bottom. Drafting Settings -> Common -> Lettering -> Tolerance Frame Height Factor.

If you're wanting more than what I pointed out above, I'd look into Custom Symbols with editable text and associate the Custom Symbol's origin to each view. Draw the rectangle, add text then create a Custom Symbol from it.
