Good morning,

I was asked a question by someone transitioning from Pro E yesterday, is there any way to turn dialog memory off?

Not something I'd really thought about, because I always hit reset as soon as I activate a command.
So I think I'd probably prefer it switched off too.

Is this possible?

Thanks, Carl

There is NO way to turn it off for your current session. However, you can set up the system so that with each new session of NX, all dialogs are returned back to their default settings. That's the closet that they can come to disabling it. BTW, this is not all that different than the way most dialogs, at least in modeling, behaved even before we introduced Dialog Memory, that is during your current session parameters last entered into a dialog would be remembered until you exited the NX session. All we did with Dialog Memory was to make it operate with virtually ALL NX dialogs, but with an option to reset after each session.

To unset this optional behavior, go to...

Customer Defaults -> Gateway -> User Interface -> General

...and near the bottom of the page you will find an option titled 'Save Dialog Box Settings between Sessions'. Simply toggle this option OFF and the system will reset your dialog settings whenever a new session is started.

Thanks for the info John, will have a look at that when I'm back in the office next week.
We moved from NX4 to NX7.5 and unfortunately I can't rememeber how it behaved back then.
