NX12.0.1 Installation

Hi,

I have followed the process but I didn't succeed to install NX12.0.1 which is delivered with 3 zips

I have an error message during installation

The readme says you should use 7zip to extract the install.
I downloaded the three files & ran the installer and it updated my NX12.

Maybe I have made a mistake
What's the extact process with 7zip and 3 archive files ?

Right click on nx-12.0.1.zip an select "Extract to nx-12.0.1" or "Extract here" from the 7-zip menu. The 3 files (.zip , .z01 and .z02) must be in the same directory and I always try to do this in c:\temp.

This is from the readme:
"
DOWNLOADING/EXTRACTING NX 12.0.X:

The download zip file for NX 12.0.1 has been split into 3 smaller files using
WinZip instead of one large file. This has been done to make downloading
without a download manager more reliable as the download time for each portion
is shorter. This is done to avoid network timeout or other issues which
result in failed downloads.

Because of this change, you will need to use WinZip or 7-Zip to extract the
downloaded files.

For NX 12.0.1, there are 3 parts to the .zip file. You will need to download
all three parts into the same location and then use WinZip or 7-Zip to
begin the extraction on the nx-12.0.1.zip file. Extracting all files from
the nx-12.0.1.zip file will extract the files from all 3 parts. You DO NOT
need to run WinZIp or 7-Zip against the .z01 and .z02 files. This will be
done automatically when extracting the .zip file.

I was getting errors with 7-Zip 16.04 but I downloaded 18.01 and it now works for me.

Hi,

I succeed to upgrade with the following process:

Uninstall NX12.0
Install NX12.0 in ENGLISH
Then the upgrade 12.0.1 is OK

Be carefull to install drafting module which containt not just "drafting +" but the "full module" !!!

Did you try to just install NX12.01 because in the nx_install.pdf (page 5) I found this text and it is also mentioned in the README-file:

NX 12.0.1 can be installed as an upgrade of NX 12.0 if NX 12.0 has been previously installed on the workstation. If you currently have any version of NX 12.0 installed on your workstation, skip to the Installing NX 12.0.1 as an Upgrade section of this document for instructions on upgrading NX 12.0 to NX 12.0.1 as your pre-installation checks were performed when NX 12.0 was previously installed.
If you do not have NX 12.0 installed on your workstation, you can install NX 12.0.1 as a new installation and follow the normal installation procedure for NX documented in this guide.

The workaround is for the non English install problem.
You have to download the latest version of 7-zip (18.01).

We just updated and the latest version of 7-zip was the ticket for us. The install went smoothly, except a full hard drive. Which was my fault.

Well, I think NX is at least partly to blame for that. The program files are taking up a lot more space than they used to.

the install takes loooooong time... I guess my disk is running low too...

Didier, - what is "the full drafting module" ?

Per the Windows Programs NX12.01 is using 17.3 gigs. 55 Should be enough...
