Hello,
I am performing a non linear sliding contact using a clevis pin and stud with an initial gap of .15mm. I am having a hard time converging with such a large gap. I can get the model to converge and run fine with a gap of .05mm or smaller. After countless trial and errors it appears that with the larger gap the clamping pressure from the bolt preload may be happening to fast. I have tried touse hte boltstp parameter and changed from 1 to 5 with no success. In fact, I can not even get this parameter to wokr with the model that does converge.
Doe sanyone have expereince with this parameter and am I missing something?
Thanks Ahead of Time!
