I have a model made up of many bodies (2500-3000) and am trying to find the cg. There are two problems:
1. I cannot select one or two of the bodies. NX does not seem to accept them when I window the complete model or select individually.
2. Fortunately I can select 95% of the model, however the cg is outside the model envelope which is impossible.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

For the ones that you cannot select, check to make sure they are solid bodies and not sheet bodies.

Use "examine geometry" to make sure the geometry is error free. If any of the body checks fail, it can lead to unexpected results.

or Hide all of your solid bodies (using the filter) and see if there are any bodies remaing that are probably sheet bodies

Thank you for your help on my first question. However regarding my 2nd question about the "cg" location; it is still outside the geometry envelope which is not very likely. See screen shot below! Have no idea why this is happening?

Did all of the bodies pass the examine geometry checks? They should pass all the body checks. If they fail any of those checks (especially the consistency check), strangeness may result.

Check the density of the parts too
Some could have a zero density, or a very high one

I found there were inconsistency's and I am repairing them to correct. Thanks all for your help

I found I had some "Sheet Bodies" and unfortunately had to suppress them. Then I had to select the majority of the parts individually. This did take some time. I was not worried about very small parts. It seemed when you selected each part separate the cg was accurate.
