Hello,
Does anyone have an idea about how a "broken nozzle test" for vertical cylinder filters should occur?

In order to test the nozzles of sand filters (vertical cylinder vessel) we have to introduce water in the vessel at the specific operating flow rate, both ascendant and descendant way.

I really don't understand,
Acc. which standard is the vessel designed and what des. pressure.
Why do you want to test with a flowrate?
Why not pressure?

Have you ever tested the nozzles before? I have to prepare some sort of procedure of how to test the installed nozzles on a plate inside a filter vessel. The filter vessel is cylindrical. It's a possibility to test only using pressure but in this way how can I see which nozzle is damaged?

I only know pressure test of complete tanks,
not parts of.

For buttwelds you can X-ray the welds.
There are same fluids to use for other welds.
Maybe try googling TOFD testing
