Dear engineers,
Good Day!

I would like to clarify if the duct that supply and return on our server room protected with AFSS is required to have "motorized" combination dampers?
Is it required also to be interlocked with the AFSS or just equipped with fusible link only.

Thank you very much.

You want dampers to close prior to the the discharge of your FFS as the clean agents are very expensive and you don't want any going to waste. For is in marine ours shut on loss of power.

Yea any opening into the room needs to be well sealed for the system to work. So those ducts are large openings the gas will escape through. You need smoke damper leave leakage class (I think it’s class 1) - and they would automatically be closed by the suppression system when it is enabled.

Thank you very much guys.
