nonlinear statics on a previously deformed model

Hello,

Is it possible to save a deformed model from a nonlinear statics analysis so that subsequent analysis can be performed on it with different loading? The loading differs in magnitude, direction and position. Failing this, is there a way to schedule loading so that one set is applied after another?

Peter,

I'm not sure what software you're using, but you can do what you want with ANSYS. You can do it by a RESTART or creating Load Steps, look in the help for these. I'm not sure how other FEA programs do this.

If the code provides the ability to apply incremental loading (and all nonlinear codes will provide this capability) you should be able to get what you are looking for .....

That is standard procedure in most nonlinear codes (e.g. ABAQUS, MARC, et al. in addition to ANSYS).
