Hi Guys

Can someone please share a good reference for nonlinear analysis of spring elements?
I currently own a copy of Krenk's nonlinear book which does not specifically discuss springs.

Looking to implement the procedures in Matlab/Octave, to perform nonlinear transient analysis

Kind regards

Newton-Raphson method is often explained in literature using 1 DOF spring as an example. It might be a good start. Check for example "Concepts and Applications of Finite Element Analysis" by R.D. Cook (chapter 17).

I suspect you are going to have to define wht you are after a bit better. In my experience non linear springs takes you into numerical time based modelling, rather than just matrix/frequency domain stuff.
