Hey,

I imported a model from a .bdf file and wanted to calculate the natural frequency of the of the model. While running this job, Abaqus exits with an error and says that two of the elements have negative volumes. I have identified these elements, and a picture of the distorted elements is below (these are C3D8I elements but are distorted). How do i repair these elements so that i have the natural frequencies, or is there any other way to solve this problem ? Also. i have an orphan mesh, will that be a problem ?

Sorry the attachment did not upload, but the distorted elements do not have parallel edges, they have intersecting edges and so a negative volume.
