Hi!!!
I have to specify several no slam check vale on compressors and pumps discharges and for other services.
My choice, of course, depends on the Dyanamic Characteristic and low pressure drop CV. For the first point, all manufacturers agree that Axial Type (mokveld, Noreva, etc)are the fastest to close, followed by Tilting and then Dual Plate (someone say that dual plate are faster than tilting). With reference to Pressure Drop, some manufacturers say that axial globe type have the higher CV, while someone say that Tilting Disk have an higher Cv due to the greater port Area.
Can someone clarify the second point?
The choice of no slam Check type depends on pressure service( i need to specify this valves for lines with rating from 600 to 2500)?
For reciprocating compressors discharge, the axial globe type is always better than a tilting disc?
When the first indication is to minimize pressure drop, which valve should i select?

Thank you in advance

It depends upon the discrete design of the manufacturer.

You state that the prime criteria is pressure loss. I presume that you are concerned with energy loss. WHne you consider that waterhammer may occur with the incorrect choice of check valve you may want to reconsider this criteria.
