I am trying to determine if the following to topics can be considered one in the same.

nil ductility temperature (NDT) vs Minimum Design Metal Temperature (MDMT)

My materials are High Tensile Strenght, Low Alloy:
ASTM SA-225 Grade C
ASTM SA-336 (modified)

I am pretty sure that nil ductility temperature refers to the temperature in a material when matter/atoms cease to exhibit kinetic energy/motion.

I have test data for a project that I am currently working on and I would like to make the conclusion that I can equate my MDMT to my test data NDT.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

A prudent engineer will declare a design MDMT to be 'comfortably' above the NDTT nil-ductility transition temperature. If designing to ASME or API, the 'comfortably' part is taken care of by the mandatory design rules. thus: MDMT > NDTT, unless the designer is an idiot.
