I`m working to improve the cas iron alloy used for rolling mills , does anyone have information about this , also on white cast iron

The requirement for a rolling mill roll is that you have a hard working surface and a soft core. Hence the surface to a certain depth is white and the core is grey. With NiHard as a material,it will be difficult to achieve this property.Maybe at the best alloy the chilled layer to get better wear properties

What is the material being rolled and at what temperature is the rolling being done?
