NFPA 79, 70E, OSHA REQUIREMENTS 1

What is the status of NFPA 79, Electrical Standard for Industrial Machinery, and NFPA 70E, Standard for Electrical Safety Requirements for Employee Workplaces? Has OSHA "adopted" or "referenced" them in part or full, directly or via ANSI? How do the provisions of these documents affect repairs to EXISTING machinery, i.e the replacement of a door safety limit or E-stop switch?

I understand that OSHA is planning to update the 1910 Subpart S (Electrical) standards relying heavily on NFPA 70 E "Standard for Electrical Safety Requirements for Employee Workplaces" 2000 edition. OSHA is shooting for an April 2003 (proposal) date.
When making repairs or replacements I try to use the latest standards as a guide.
