Is it possible to add new units in inventor for measurements?
Thanks,
JMc

What unit would you want to add? You can choose inch, foot, millimeter, centimeter, meter, or micron currently.

Maybe mile?

Actually, I'm working with costs, and it would be nice to say that something is (at the least) 1.00 dollars, or hopefully $1.00, as opposed to 1.00 ul. I know there is a "Cost" part in properties, but i need a cost that is dependant on length, and this is the best way i have found.

I'm not sure if Inventor can handle cost calculations with $ units....it should since the parameters can be linked in Excel, but not sure the best way to handle it.

If it is an I-part you should be able to put a formula in for the cost parameter, but I haven't tried it before. Sean has some tutorials on dealing with this type of thing on his web site (and a discussion forum also)

Anyone know if there is an editable .ini or something file that would list all of the units? So maybe i could just add a "dollar" unit possibly?

Thanks
JMc

The unit are built in. You can define units based on others (like a square in = in*in) but there is not an ini file. BTW, INI files pretty much died a few years ago. Now everything is kept in the registry or XML files.
