Good morning,

I am a new guy here. Just so everyone knows I am not an engineer and will not try to pretend to be one either. I was looking for a forum where I could discuss lasers with those more experienced and wiser than me so that is what led me here.

My background is 100% employee safety, ie OSHA safety. I have been in this field for several decades but until this time never had to deal with laser safety to any extent. I have done a bit of research over the last few weeks but I still have some unanswered questions on the subject. Obviously, the manufacturer will ultimately prove one of my most important resources, but so far I have not been able to go that direction (long story, yes I will contact them, but just have not been able to so far) So, being the impatient sort that I am I decided to see if I could find others that could help me along in the meantime.

So, now that you know my story, please be a bit tolerant as I likely am not operating on the same playing field as you guys are OK?

Generally, it's not what you are, but what you ask, i.e., is it work related? and is the scope of the question limited, i.e., are you asking someone to do your work for you? Other than that, avoiding questions related to perpetual motion or free energy the air, there ought not be a problem.

You should just go and ask your questions; you'll know soon enough one way or another...

In no way am I asking anyone to do my work for me. So far I have been reading and reviewing anything I can get my hands on relating to my questions, but thus far I have not found the answers I am looking for. I did ask my questions in a thread separate from this one. Hopefully others can see I have been trying to research this issue as thorughly as possible but have just run up against a brick wall at this point.
