Hi i am designing a new 20m span insitu voided slab integral (portal frame) bridge. I have done the slab as a grillage and used plate elements to model the abutment and pilecap.
in terms of calculations, how do i design the main reinforcement for voided slab? is there any code which gives guidance? slab depth is 1.5m and void is 0.8m so the slab will not act as a cellular slab as ratio is less than 0.6. but i dont know how to do calculation to aashto/aci code.
can anyone suggest an ideas?
