Need to convert equations to practical circuits.

Hi,
I have an electrical engineering degree and I know some very basic techniques to convert design equation into working prototypes but I want to learn this at an advanced level. I don't have the time to start a pHD program so I have to learn synthesis on my own. Can someone recommend some advanced books, web sites, etc. that can get me going?

Design of what? There's not much point in giving you a load of microwave stripline design data if you're trying to build a 500MVA generator. Your question is so broad in scope that it is almost meaningless - be specific and concise in your requests.

Whatever are you talking about? Everything is done by modules, which you should have already learned in school. Active filter blocks, passive filter blocks, etc. are used; no one, but no one, does much with equations. You specify passbands, cutoff/cuton frequencies, ripple, etc., and crank through design tools to generate canonical forms.

Or are you talking about analog computing? Like generating mathematical functions using opamps, multipliers, integrators, limiters, piecwise linear function generators and such stuff?

I figured he was asking the proverbial "fresh outta school" question: how do I learn to design things. I was going to suggest reading the Art of Electronics.
 
The "equations" are one thing, but the IF-THEN-ELSE clauses may be important too.

By way of a simple example, an automobile cruise control should include control loop equations, but a wise designer would make sure that it gets turned off when the driver touches the brake pedal, or if the airbags are triggered, or if a door is opened, or if transmission is bumped into neutral, etc...

You're not referring to VHDL and logic arrays are you?
