need to associate a point to a surface so when i move the surface the point moves with it. how?

its a line (parabola) that was rotated into a surface.
need to keep the focal point with that surface all the time.

Will "Point-Set->Face Points->Face Percentage" work? It can be associative and a single point can be placed any where on the surface.

the focal point is not on the surface.
If you can create the parabola in a sketch and there create a a point which the parabola uses for definition, you can later re-use that point.
