I am working on some foundation design which involves the vibration pile construction( open end steel pipe pile). Does antone know how to determine the pile capacity of the vibration pile? I have tried a lot on Google, but no luck so far. I really appreciate that anyone can help me with that.

Per the US Army Corps of Engineers: "The ultimate piling capacity cannot yet (1997) be determined from vibratory driver records. An impact hammer is required to drive the pile to the embedment depth".

Go to my web page (link below). On the "Steel Sheet Piling & H-Piles" page, download "US Army Corps of Engineers, Pile Driving Equipment, Engineering Instructions 02G0001".
The quote above is from paragraph 4-2 a. (2) (a) on page 4-5.

Also, a pile load test should provide an idea of what may be expected.

GRL has looked at determining pile capacity vs. a function of penetration rate, frequency and amplitude. Their website is J.E. Bowles Foundation Design lists a couple of dynamic formulas for vibratory hammers, but I don't know how accurate they are.
The best method is to do a static analysisof the pile at a different depths until you get a suitable capacity. Be sure to use an approprate factor of safety. (I use 3) and since the pile is not driven, the soil under the tip will not be as dense, so be conservative in selecting bearing factors.
