Hello!

I was talking with a friend yesterday about diferents solvers and my friend said "Ansys is a better solver compared with Nastran, specially in automotive analysis". Does anybody know something about that? I work in a company who has NX and just Nastran as a simulation tool, if he was right, we could buy Ansys in order to offer better results to Chrysler, Ford and General Motors.

We work making aluminum wheels and we have to simulate some expirements relatives with fatigue and also impact.

Best regards and sorry for my English... I'm learning.

Almost like asking which CAD system is better. Each have developed niche applications that may serve one industry better than another.

Where I used to work, we had UG and Nastran. We then switched to Pro/E and added Mechanica. When I left, they were evaluating NE-Nastran as it was cheaper than MSC-Nastran.
Where I am now, we use Wildfire and some of our stress guys like Ansys and a couple like Mechanica.

"Wildfires are dangerous, hard to control, and economically catastrophic."
