Maybe someone can help with this. I am trying to track down a Nastran occupant model for use in a vehicle durability analysis. I have been told that a few years ago, MSC had a model like this as an example in one of their training manuals. I have not been able to locate it. As I understand it, the occupant model consists of a lumped mass and spring elements that are "supposed" to mimic the load distribution of an occupant under durability loading. This gets into the live load vs. dead load issue and how to model. Thanks for any leads.

Hi,
I am not sure, but I think you should have a look on the NCAC website (national crash analysis center, USA). I know that they develop occupant models for crash analysis ... You can directly download some of them if you 'll be using ls dyna, or you can ask them to send you the neutral file to be read by patran ... but all the geometry will be lost and only nodes and elements will remain. But that should be enough to help you.
good luck
