Nailable Steel Joist Section Properties 1

I am interested to hear from anyone that knows where I can find section properties for Nailable Steel Joists.

We have a set of drawings, for an existing structure that has a date in the early 70's. These drawings call out 10 JP 15 Nailable Steel Joists.

We have reached out to our contact at Nucor - Vulcraft and he didn't have any answers.

Never heard of them. Did you try SJI - Steel Joist Institute at SJI.org (I think). They know a LOT about a lot of old joists and the mfgs.

Macomber had a joist with a steel top chord with a slot of sorts that would clamp the shank of a nail... not sure I have section properties, or if the year is right... be right back

Try pages 10 and 11... no section info, but maybe a direction...

I have a Macomber V beam joist catalog from 1968, but I can't seem upload it here... you're welcome to it, though I can't quite get the designations to correlate with what you're are seeing. Do you have an email address you can get to me?

The information in the Macomber catalog seems to be for a very similar product, but doesn't exactly suite what we're seeing.

I've made contact with SJI and they aren't aware of any JP joist designation. They suspect it could be from a light gauge supplier.

When I make more progress, I'll repost.
