Hi. I will work with a NACA 66 (MOD) in an exersise and i want all points or function which describe this NACA. This NACA has characteristics: max camber 2% at 50% and max thick 12% at 45%. I search everywhere but i don't found nothing. Can anyone help me?

Basic i found some Java programs at internet but have only for NACA 4 dig or 5 dig. For modified NACA there is not.

I think this is what you are looking for.
If you need something different, you colud ask me again or get the software I have used to generate this data.
Is not a freeware but the price is low.

Maybe. But The numbers of this NACA (66-412) what mean?
With other words, this NACA has at 45% max thick? Where look it?
Also i want a lot of points. at least, 500 points for any section and more densely at leading edge.

66 is NACA series.

4 is a progressive number for camber. 2.2% for this case.

12 is thickness as requested.

If you run a spline through point you will see that they are enough to define the profile.

Why you need so many points? what do you need to do with them?

I want simulate this NACA with CFDs. And i must have a lot of point because the Gambit(if you know: program for decrizitation), put the points and connect them with lines. Thus , in reality, i have a polygon and no curbe and then i have problem at finite volume near the wall.

Can you sent me these points (in a file)? i want 500 for any section.

A! The number 66 mean that the location of max camber is 50% and location max thick is 45%?

You have to fit a spline trough the point I have provided.
Then design the area around the airfoil and mesh this area with Gambit.
You don't need a lot of points! You only need a good fit spline, then you could in Gambit make a good mesh.

If You cannot use a spline just import your points in a cad software, (autocad rinocheros o whatever). Fit a spline through that points, and then divide the spline in the number of points you need. But I think is not the right way to use Gambit.
About NACA 66 You are right, is a profile with camber @50% and max thick @45%

Yes... Initially, I thing to do spline with a few point which i have, but can not do this.
With Autocad 2008, do you know how became this procedure?
1. how input the points?
2.How make a spline with these points?

Thanks very much for information!!!

Ok. i do this which tou tell me. I run the script. It worked and the points of NACA showed.
Now, what am i do? How i make the spline with this points?

Open AutoCAD. Press <F1>.
