Multiple data sets in 3D using Matlab?

I want to use Matlab version 6.5 to plot several 2D data sets offset from eachother (into a third dimension). Note: this is not a 3D multivariable plot. Specifically, I've measured a signal (x) versus time (t); I've repeated this, say 5 times; now I want to plot x versus t for all 5 trials, but not overlapping in a 2D plot! I want to offset the 2D plots, extending them into a third axis in which case the y-axis is the trial number. Is this possible?

Thanks for your reply Greg. Now, I've recently discovered I can do this with the mesh function, but it will require scaling the x-axis (so it's time in my case) instead of # of data points. Now, can you suggest any craftier way to do generate such a plot?

Sure, add a different offset to the y and x values for each run, this will give you a staggered 3d layout, plotted on a 2d figure.
