Has anyone designed a multi-layer topping over structural slab subject to fire truck load? It consists of layers of pavers, screed, styropor, drainage layer, screed, void former again etc. The idea is to check whether the specified layering will be adequate in terms of bearing capacity, settlement and compression, punching.
My initial thought would be to model the layers as springs in parallel, which means I need the flexural stiffnesses of each (by using EA/L) and from there I could compute the above values and compare with the limits. One other approach I'm thinking of looking into is the ACI slab-on-grade design manual.
The first layer (or even below?) would also be subject to some flexural stresses I believe.
