I've been tasked with providing design for support of wall and ceiling plating for an MRI project.

My question is regarding magnetic pull. I know the dead loads I need to design my structural elements for, but was wondering what, or how much extra load I should be considering to account for magnetic pull of the MRI. I've read some commentary about 1.5 to 2 times your dead load, but looking for more sound information.

Any help is appreciated.

I've usually seen copper lining in these rooms. Minimal magnetic effects

It's a 3.0T MRI and has significant silicon steel lines walls and ceiling panels in addition to the copper RF enclosure. Shielding thickness is dependent upon magnet size and proximity to other MRI machines. 25mm thick in some areas.
