I have a nice emerson 3/4 horse two speed motor. Got it to run, but weak.

wires: blu, red, blk, brn, and wht.

mdl# is emerson s67pxerr-5231

would welcome help.

Thanks,

Can you post a photo of the nameplate? That would help immensely.

what scottyUK said. I ran a search on emersons website and could not locate that model number. When you say the motor is weak, what exactly is happening? Does it humm, does it move the load slowly? Is it overheating?

The motor runs---low torque. Name plate lists 8.3 amps.
Motor has square housing, open frame. I ran into the same problem with the mdl #.

Maybe I need to do some more work with the ohmmeter, and isolate the windings. Maybe experiment with a capacitor.

the listed speeds on the plate are 1725 and 1140

thanks,

Single phase or three phase? Any starting switch?
1725/1140 may be two separate windings. Easy two speed transitions give 2:1 speed ratios. Most other ratios use two windings.
