Hi,

I need to calculate the moments of inertia of the structure of a bus falling laterally. I know that in the .sta file ABAQUS writes the moments of inertia about center of mass and about the origin. Can ABAQUS calculate it about a point that I want it to calculate?

Thanks in advance,

Why not use the parallel axes theorem?

If you have the MOI about the CG, it's not clear to me what else you need. You need to clarify your question.

Do you mean moment of inertia (mk**2) or second moment of area?

Hi,

In fact I have to calculate both of them; with the Steiner theorem and the .sta fila I can calculate the moment of inertia in the point I want, but how can I calculate the other inertia, the area inertia, in ABAQUS?

Thanks in advance,
