Hi Experts,

I am trying to work on a project but I do not have access to more advanced software like Ansys.
Can I know if I can use SAP2000 Direct-integration time-history analysis to model propagation of surface wave in a layered medium? Any guide + video to show how to do it?
Thank you so much.

Best regards,
ZY

Not sure. I would do the following experiment to find out.

Identify a simple element for which you have a textbook solution. Build a model of that element. Use a time history analysis to compute the response. Compare this to the textbook solution.

If you do this, please report back. I'm curious if SAP2000 can do this. My hunch is that it can.
