Modeling soil in ANSYS 2

Dear All,
I only have experience of analyzing structural response with Ansys. When the soil needs to be considered in the analysis, how to model soil? any special element for soil? how to model the interface between soil and structure?

Any suggestion welcome and thanks advance.

Your best place to start is the help file, where there is a huge amount of information to answer your questions. ANSYS uses the Drucker-Prager model with an approximation to the Mohr-Coulomb plasticity model but maintains the use of Cohesion and Dilatancy angle for the porous media. See the Structural Guide>Chapter 8. Nonlinear Structural Analysis and search for soil as a start. If you've only done structural, soil is a completely different animal altogether...
