I'd appreciate any helpfull information on how to effectively model an exterior shade (NOT overhang, recessed window, adjacent building or vertical fin, which are all given in Shade library).
I am dealing with either an exterior pull-down blind type shade or perhaps louvres.

Thanks

I assume this is a permanent shade covering a part of the window? If this is the case, break the window down into two seperate windows. You do this by creating two walls with the common orientation. Model half of the wall with the normal window and associated dimensions and characteristics (SC, U-value, etc). Model the other wall for the shaded window; change the shading coeeficient and U valve based on the properties of the shade. You can usually get this information from the shade manufacturer.
